Hello, I'm Kay ✈️

I document the world as I actually find it.

Not the highlight-reel version. The rainy afternoons, the overpriced tourist traps I accidentally wandered into, the perfect coffee shop I found by getting completely lost — and the costs that come with all of it.

Why I built this

I got tired of travel content that was either too polished to be believable, or too vague to be useful. "Budget traveller" articles that forgot to mention the hidden fees. Hotel reviews from people who got comped a free stay. Guides that made every city sound like paradise.

So I built the travel site I always wished existed. One that tells you what the coffee actually cost. Which neighbourhood you should actually stay in. And what I personally thought was worth the money — honestly.

"Every story on this site is something I actually experienced. Not a press trip, not sponsored content — just me, a notebook, and a camera."

How I work

The rules I write by

📖

Real stories, not press trips

Every entry is written from personal experience. I pay my own way — so I have no reason to sugarcoat anything.

💰

Honest costs, always

I share exactly what I spent. Not a ballpark. Not a "budget traveller" range. The actual numbers from my own wallet.

🗺️

Every place is on the map

If I ate there, stayed there, or stumbled upon it by accident — it gets a pin. So you can find it too.

Affiliate links, done honestly

Some links earn a small commission. I only recommend things I've genuinely used or researched thoroughly. You'll always know when a link is affiliate.

Where I'm exploring next

This site is a living journal — it grows with every trip. Southeast Asia is where it started, but the map keeps expanding. Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, Indonesia, Europe — all on the list.

"The best travel tip I ever got: slow down. You don't need to see everything. You just need to see it properly."
